A sad loss...

Last night confirmed that my loyal viewership of American Idol (AMI) will end with immediate effect.

For some bizarre reason, Constantine Maroulis was the 7th Idol wannabe voted out of AMI last night. All AMI viewers were shocked beyond belief. Some, I heard, watched every single repeat telecast of the results show on both Channel 5 and Star World just to confirm the results.

Constantine was one of the contestants I noted way back during the audition rounds. He left his rock band to "try something different". Despite rejection from his band members, he still went ahead to pursue his Hollywood dream. This is something which, to me, calls for commendation - are we actually all so bold to just drop what we have within our comfort zone to venture into something we're not comfortable with?

Yes, Constantine did have some struggles. He had to deal with genres of music he wasn't familiar with. But I'm sure he learnt from the experience.

What I didn't get from last night's results show was the fact that Scott Savol is STILL in the competition! Remember Jerry Ong of Singapore Idol days? It's so deja vu, isn't it? I'm really thinking: either the Americans love big fat man (think Ruben Studdard), or Scott has very rich contacts who can afford to vote 1000 times each for him!

Now I confirm will watch The Amazing Race on AXN every Wednesday night at 8pm! AMI no more! Bah!
