Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire - movie review
Yes, be envious. I just came back from the gala premiere of the HP4 movie at Orchard Cineleisure. Went for FREE too! Thanks to Elaine (Khoo), whose friend who's reviewing the movie has spare tickets to the premiere. Saw people actually dressed as witches! Didn't see any celebs there, except that I saw Ix Shen and Ericia Lee walking out of Orchard Cine before the premiere... Hmm...
Anyway, the movie... was quite OK. Not a boring moment - the movie was quite easy to follow. In fact, I felt that the 2.5h movie passed by so quickly! Am surprised that I didn't fall asleep during the movie, judging that I was up and about the whole day today, with no afternoon nap, and my eyes staring at my PDA reading ebooks for a good period of time! A lot of details were missing from the book, for obvious reasons (otherwise, the movie would have been like 4 hours long...!), but would have been more entertaining if a bit more of details were included. At least the story managed to flow. Felt that there's too little emphasis of the school life in Hogwarts in the movie. Maybe that's too minute a detail. Some of the scenes were, as the rating put it, definitely frightening!
On the bus on the way back, saw the trailer of an earlier HP movie when Daniel Radcliffe was much younger. He definitely has come of age - a more experienced actor now. In fact, the whole cast has developed. It's not a pain to watch the 3 teenagers act now.
Wouldn't mind watching the movie another time, partly because we missed the 1st 15 minutes of the show. But I think I will watch it twice, at the most. It's not as cheem and, unfortunately, as captivating as LOTR, which I can watch 3 or 4 times without finding it boring.
Alternatively, I can relive the movie by reading the ebook, and expound the scenes not included from there...
