I'm revived... vocally!!!

Just came back from DCT's concert at YMS with Geoff, Qinghao, Lim Hui, Yi Hui and Ben. Felt vocally refreshed. Not that I can sing as well as I used to - cuz teaching killed my voice big time, but felt this tinge of regret for not continuing my voice lessons and continue with the singing exams. Really feel like taking out all the songs Dr. Chia taught me during voice lessons and start singing again. And start singing along to Sarah Brightman's CDs. (NOT like her though...)

Regarding the concert, a vast range of performers; from the maiden performers to the really seasoned ones. It's quite obvious, actually. From their standing posture, their facial expression. Some really sang like wood; others really engaged the audience. Was impressed with some of the gals who sang. Very rich and warm tone, not too screechy on the high notes. Very soothing to the ear. As for DCT, what can I say? He's the man! Despite just having recovered from fever, sore throat and what nots, he still gave a sterling performance of Paolo's Sognai - with a Mariah twang to it, when he negotiated the 10th! Which sounded good, actually! (It's not an insult, btw!) That left his trademark, I guess.. hahahah! He also did a very beautiful duet with this gal on Monteverdi's Pur Ti Miro from the opera L'incoronazione di Poppea. And they started giving orchids to all the performers. Heh, DCT was obviously struggling with the orchids, since it got stuck together! hahahahaha... I nearly burst out laughing when the orchids dropped on the floor while he was giving it out - luckily managed to control it! hahahahahah....

After the concert, had supper at Coffee Club @ Hotel Rendezvous (Ren-dez-vous ?!?!?!??!?!). Well, we talked about the concert, naturally. And through the talk, that's when I was revived musically. We were talking about Il Divo's 2 albums, and all the more it made me wanna rush home and listen to it (I'm listening to the 1st album now as I blog). Must listen to Simply Red's new album Simplified again - heard from Qinghao it's very good. Probably missed some things out when I heard it the 1st time. Cracked lots of stupid jokes, as usual. With Geoff, DCT and Qinghao around, how much peace can we get..?!?!??! hahahahahhahah... reminded me of the Europe tour in June. And I was, as usual, the centre of all the suan-ing... :( *sigh* entertainment at my expense, huh...?!?! :(

(Hey, DCT, thanks for inviting us to the concert. It was good! Really! And I'm NOT saying this cuz you read my blog!)

Long day ahead tomorrow - Jenny's wedding. Haven't exactly thought of what to wear, and plan for the worship which I'm leading, especially in terms of what to say. Also haven't chosen the CDs to play before the start of the service!!!!! GAH!!! So many things to do, so little time! Gotta transport the Korg again tomorrow. Hope there are people who will help me carry - i REFUSE to carry it alone! Hope the soundcheck works out too, despite the no-chance of rehearsing last Sunday.

Prayer item: Pray for my own spirituality, for my personal walk with the Lord. Somehow can't seem to focus on Him - too many distractions in my life.

(If you read this, please join me in prayer. It's quite bad - I seem to be losing sight of God in all that I do!)

Also noticed that my blog's readership has increased... :) though the readers are not that regular, it's heartening to know that more and more people do check in as and when they can. Thanks for reading, guys! Do leave a comment or a tag, then at least I know you're here... :)

Signing out now...
