Happy Year-Of-The-Dog!!!

Here's wishing all my Chinese friends who do read this blog:

GONG XI FA CAI!!!

1st day of Chinese New Year was ok. Was in church for service today. Smaller crowd today. Probably everyone else went back to their non-S'pore homes/went for an earlier service in another church/zao4 church. Proceeded to maternal grandma's after that and, as expected, saw relatives I only talk to once a year. What kinda kept me entertained in an otherwise boring gathering was when an auntie just went on talking and talking about her "ingrate" son, and how active her life has been - she's 67, went canoeing recently, frequents Sentosa to cycle and go for KOK sessions. Sometimes she goes with friends, most of the time by herself. Can see the can't-wait-for-her-to-stop-talking look on everyone's faces. But interestingly, when she went to tell her story, the whole house just kept quiet and listened, as though captivated by her story. Quite bizarre, really.

Visit to paternal grandma's in the evening was quite fun, with my fave cousins there to talk to. Managed to catch American Idol 5 on tape, and was introduced to Project Runway, which just ended its season, or so I heard. Quite fun watching, even though it was re-runs.

Am looking forward to day 2 - LW A Cappella Wing rehearsal in the morning, followed by visits to colleagues' places in the evening. Day 3 will see me having lunch at Michelle's place, then to Miss Rebecca's with the alumni. Hope can get more ang paos...

:p
