Giving Thanks...
Increased interaction with church friends on Sundays (now that I don't teach Leng Kee) has made my week brighter. Today was one good example. Had the study of Ephesians with the SG after service today (we did chapter 1), followed by lunch at lao3 di4 fang1. After that, we adjourned to PL's place for Star Munchkin, after the guys had 2 rounds of electronic soccer on PS2. My first time playing Star Munchkin. A fun game... Of the 2 games we played, I won both! (Beginner's luck, I guess... :p ) But there are just too many descriptions/instructions on each card, and too many cards to understand! And the fact that we're not having games next Sunday due to CNY, wonder if I can still remember the game when we play it again 2 weeks later...! Badminton and squash after that was fun too, but think I didn't exercise enough. Not enough sweat and stretch! Can't feel the calories burning... :(
Was just being still for a while, just nua-ing away in front of my computer when the words of this
How Deep The Father's Love For Us
How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory
Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocing voice,
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that helf Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I knoww that it is finished
I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom (REPEAT)

Such beautiful words! Indeed, God's Love for us is so deep that no one in this world can fathom. As the words of the song run through my head, I realise I have so much to thank God for - His Gift of Love, forgiveness of my sins, wonderful colleages, SG people, parents, daily needs being met... I am somehow also reminded of the joy which comes from the Lord, and the joy of the Lord is indeed our strength!
I pray that this joy will see me through the coming school week... And I pray that it will last!
