Bu Xiang Zhang Da

I don't believe this! This is sacrilegous to Classical Music!

Found out from Joycelyn that S.H.E.'s latest song - Bu Xiang Zhang Da - borrows the melody from... guess what? Mozart's Symphony No. 40 in G Minor K. 550 1st movt!!! My goodness! (Sing wo bu xiang, wo bu xiang, bu xiang zhang da to the 1st phrase of the theme! Geddit now???) And that's not the 1st by S.H.E.! They've 1st done it in their song Remember (Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake), and then in Bo Si Mao (Persian Cat). *sigh* don't their songwriters have any sense of originality...????

Well, at least now I have another resource for my music lessons... just nice, as I've been using Mozart's Sym No. 40 to teach about Classical Music. So I guess this is something the kids can relate to. (Lucky Sec 2s of 2006!!!)

Speaking of resources, anymore teaching ideas for music??? Please leave a comment! :)

Maybe we have to be less 'purist'...

think of the days of church mode... or otherwise...

Some RANDOM THOUGHTS

Some music composer somewhere 'up there' or 'down there' maybe laughing at us for calling 'atonal music' 'new' in the 20th Century, when who knows... it may have appeared WAY before the days of Pierliugi or Gregorian Chant... haha
