Comex 2005

Just came back from Comex 2005. Went with PL, Charles and his friend (Zining's his name, if i'm not mistaken.) Did quite a bit of damage today: bought a wireless SD card and screen protector for my PDA from Comex. Spent $130. Helped Hock Beng buy his thumb drive too - 512MB for $55. Comes with a casing and lanyard. VERY CHEAP! PL bought his cable modem from Starhub and a wireless router from Linksys; Charles bought a Microsoft keyboard for just $10. Friend bought the Tungsten E2 for $418, with free 256MB SD card, 2 spare stylus and a leather case. Pretty good deal, I must say.

Was there in the afternoon, and Comex was VERY CROWDED! Very surprising for a Thursday. Think many of those who went are teachers. Actually, i hardly see school kids around - all I saw were working adults and yuppies. won't be surprised these ppl either took leave or took an extended lunch break just to go for Comex!

Saw the new HP ipaq 6515, the PDA phone with the installed GPS. Had a hold of it. Phone size is very big, bigger than the Palm Treo. But buttons were very small! Was having a hard time trying to SMS with the built-in QWERTY keyboard. And my fingers either kept pressing the wrong key or pressing 2 keys at the same time... :( think will save that $1000!

Driving to and into Suntec was a nightmare! 1st was stuck in slowing moving traffic at the junction before Suntec, then when I finally got into Suntec, the carpark was FULL! And the dumbest part is, they still allowed cars to go in!!! Duh! Which makes me appreciate the Plaza Sing carpark - it doesn't let you enter when the carpark is full, and it actually tells you how many lots are available on each level. Having driven 3 rounds round the carpark with a traffic jam (!), i went out, and to my horror, had to pay $1.05. Must have overshot the 15 min grace period.

Went out of Suntec carpark and finally decided to park at Esplanade. Plenty of lots there, but 5 hours parking (from 1.30pm-6.30pm) cost me $8!!! $8!!! And I just topped up my cashcard, only to see my money fly away... :( incl. ERP, I paid $10.05 on transport. but it still won't deter me from driving... heh...

Did more damage after Comex. Met Hsu Fen for dinner at Holland V Breko's and after that, entered an electronics shop. I bought a charger for my bluetooth headset ($28) and a 512MB memory stick duo pro ($110). Ah well... thank God there's 11 more days left to pay day...!

Am very depressed that teacher's day holidays is coming to an end in an hour's time... :( but then, the Sept hols are coming up! *rejoice* but I'm down for N-Level invigilation... *sigh*
