And a new term begins...

Had a short but restful break. Spent my free days (the days I need not go to school during the hols) just staying at home and just... nua-ing...! Am surprised that I could stay at home for more than one day straight without any complaints! Think I found the joy and pleasure of staying at home, having the house to myself. But of course it would be better if I did actually decide to buy the Nintendo DS Lite, which I have been eyeing on ever since Sharon got her Nintendo DS... :p

It's back to school today. Back to the old grinds of work. Managed to survive today... Barely though, due to my strained left ankle. :( Today saw an influx of trainee teachers; some doing their 4-week Enhanced School Experience (ESE), others on the 10-week practicum. I can't remember how many there were exactly, all I knew was, when I first saw them, "Wah! How come so many trainees???" And on a related note, I think my school needs to create more parking lots - those teachers who came relatively later had no place to park and had to "illegally" park along the kerbside! Think I should put on the eSSS to get the school to build a multi-storey carpark...??? Had a bombshell today - my co-form, Sazali, will be leaving me to be the co-form of another class! Had a shock when the news was broken to me, as I thought that it was settled that Saz will still be my co-form this semester. Well, I take it as a challenge that I have to control my form class on my own now...

I pray that in this new semester, God will show me His direction for me in the school, and to give me a clearer direction on how I can contribute and give to the school.

Val shared this prayer yesterday during small group, which I will post here to encourage those reading this blog who are in the working world:

Prayer before starting work today!
Thank you Lord that life is not about me...
"Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven"
So as I enter this workplace I bring Your Presence with me
I speak Your peace, Your grace, Your mercy and Your perfect order into this office
I acknowledge Your power over all that will be spoken, thought, decided and done
Lord, I thank You for the gifts You have blessed me with for today...
I commit to using these gifts responsibly to Your honour
Give me a fresh supply of strength to do my job well so that I can bring glory to You in all that I do
Anoint my projects, ideas and energy so that even my smallest accomplishment
may bring credit to Your name
Lord, when I am confused, guide me
When I am weary, energise me.
When I am burned out infuse me with the light of Your Holy Spirit
May the work that I do and the way I do it bring faith, joy, and a smile to all that I come in contact with today
And when I leave this place grant me travel mercies
Bless my family and home to be in order as I left it
Lord, I thank You for everything You've done, everything You're doing and everything You're going to do
In the Name of Jesus I pray,
Amen.
