Finally... time to breathe!!!

For those who frequent this site but always find it not updated, sorry to disappoint. Don't worry, I've not disappeared from the surface of this earth... yet!

Well, today marks the start of the mid-year exams, which means I have time to breathe before the papers come in next Thurs. So, to celebrate this "joyous occasion", I ran off straight after school to meet KT, Val and Charles for lunch at NUH. Went to the cafe at the med fac library block. Food ain't that great, but ambience was good.

After lunch, went down with Charles to Sim Lim Square (somewhere I won't go on my own) to do some gadgets shopping. After walking around the whole complex, these are what I got.

First,
a pair of Sennheiser earphones to replace the ones I use with my school laptop. That one has been used and abused by me till the wire is almost gonna break. :p So I decided to up my listening pleasure by buying a pair of more "branded" earphones... all for only $15!!! (haggled from $16) That's a steal! I've not tried it out yet, but I think I'll enjoy it... :)

This was the next purchase. My 21-in-1 reader could not read my SD cards, so I decided that enough was enough, and I should buy a card reader dedicated to SDs and MMCs. Was going for $9, but saleslady gave me best price $7. Of cos grab la!

Since I'm gonna use my laptop to key in CA and SA marks, gadgets of this nature would be useful, so decided to invest in one...
A must-have for all teachers, me thinks. I've not tried it out yet - will do so on Monday when I do have actual marks to key in!!! What I like is that it uses a PS/2 port, so I don't lose a USB port. Listed price was $12, but managed to get it for $10! I think my colleagues will love me for this. Maybe I should also prepare a piggy-bank for them to contribute to the "Make Desi-belle rich" fund... :p

And... the ultimate ah-lian purchase...
Was eyeing on this ever since I set my eyes on it at CyberActive West Mall last Friday. And it has an option of running on either the PS/2 or USB port. Such flexibility I like! Listed price was $19.90, but insisted on $18 and I got it! So this now sits on the ACJC Sports Complex mousepad next to my home laptop. :)

After spending about 2 hours there,
Total damage: $45
Total savings: $6.90

Have to thank Charles for being my shopping advisor. Only thing I didn't heed to was the pink colour mouse... :p It really helps to shop at SLS with one who is familiar with the place and which shop has the best deals. I always felt that SLS is quite a luan place to shop and honestly, I got quite lost because after a while, all the shops seemed to look the same! Am really amazed how guys can spend so many hours at SLS. Now I know why...

Still haven't got everything I wanted. Am still looking for a screen protector for my school laptop, a 100pc CD-R spindle, a 512MB/1GB MS Pro, Need For Speed PC game, maybe a 2GB thumbdrive, amongst many other things which I will only buy if I have the money. (So please... contribute to the Desi-belle fund!) Would see myself going back to SLS again soon...

Am still planning my "post-exam activities" for next week. Should squeeze in a time for sports too - think I'm putting on weight again... :(
