Silence is golden...

I'm starting to appreciate the Lancer more, now that I'm getting to drive it more often. I know that I often complain about the car being old, wonky, etc. etc., but it's still a trustworthy car. Am lately starting to appreciate and treasure the quality time spent in the car, especially when alone. (Of cos I also do treasure the quality time spent with my passengers... :) )

I have recently started to drive slower and more safely, which helps me relax a bit more and just enjoy the scenery outside. I'm also starting to drive without any music on (so I'll just hear the Lancer's engine purring), and it IS a wonderful feeling! It does make it more conducive to be alone with God and to have enjoyable conversations with Him, especially when on a clear road on the highway. It does help me clear my mind off things (without any distractions from what's around me) and really gives me the precious time to reflect and be still before Him - something which I hardly have the time to do in all business/distractions.

Playing worship songs in the car also helps set the heart to worship Him, and to sing of His Goodness, especially when I don't have to words to express it on my own.

Thank you Lord, for providing me with this channel to spend time with You. Open my eyes that I may see, open my ears that I may hear what You have in store for my life. Help me to also obey You, even though it may not be easy at times. Make me the child You want me to be. Amen.
