My 27th birthday celebrations

Turned 27 last Thrusday. Had a rather low-key birthday celebration this year, as compared to previous years, but not in any way less meaningful and memorable, nonetheless.

Mummy gave us a dinner treat at Jack's Place @ West Coast 2 days before the birthday. A very satisfying meal. Enjoyed their seafood salad, which kinda inspired Daddy to do something similar for dinner the next day... :p

It was Daddy's turn to give a treat on the actual day. Went for lunch at Swensen's @ Crown Prince, and had a complimentary Birthday Fireworks(?) ice-cream. 3 scoops of ice-cream (strawberry, vanilla and chocolate), with a candle on top. No cheesy birthday songs to accompany the ice-cream, thankfully!

Went shopping down town, along with picking up the Citibank SMRT cards for self and the folks. Ironically, though not surprisingly, Mummy was the only one who bought something - a silver chain from this kiosk at Wisma. And it was for herself... hmm...

Day's celebrations ended with (finally) a KOK session with the small group - Terry, KT, Sufen and PL who brought some friends from his missions team. The girls were very sweet - they came up with a surprise birthday "cake" (2 fruit cakes). Had a great time, considering this must be the FIRST time this year we actually KOKed as a small group! Went for Corrinne May's concert on Saturday - was my birthday treat from Jeremy. She sang mainly songs from her Christmas album The Gift. Almost flawless (in terms of pitching) singing and fantastic playing! Really enjoyed it. Also had an autographed concert flyer and a photo moment with her...!

Received my birthday present from the SG - Steve Jackson' Munchkin Impossible card game. (Inspired by movies like Mission: Impossible, perhaps? Hmm...) Kinda hinted it to the SG... Didn't know would actually get it! Am still reading the rules, but the more I read it, the more gian I am to play it! Have been requested to bring it during SG retreat at the end of the year. That should be fun! No photo moment for this... Pity. :(

Thanks to everyone who made my 27th birthday extra special and meaningful to me, and also to those who sent me birthday wishes via phone calls/SMS/MSN. It feels good to know that I'm remembered... :)
